Colts’ OL Still Battered Entering Week 3 Despite the Return of Saturday

Filed under: AFC South, OL, Injury, O-Line, Jaguars, RB, Colts — Mark Wimer @ 9:44 am

Joseph Addai and the Colts got some good news about the team’s run blocking early in the week, as it appears that C Jeff Saturday and TE Dallas Clark are expected back in the lineup for the Jacksonville game. However, the OL is far from out of the woods yet:

They finished Sunday without four projected starters on the offensive line. Pro Bowl center Jeff Saturday and guards Ryan Lilja and Mike Pollak haven’t played a snap, although Saturday probably will Sunday. All have knee injuries.

Left tackle Tony Ugoh went out with a groin injury…

…The Colts’ running game, run defense and pass protection are hurting but they’re hanging on, trying to win Sunday and then take advantage of their fortuitously scheduled bye week. The Colts expect everyone back, eventually. They should have a chance to be the team they envisioned.

Fortunately for the Colts’ real-world chances, the Jacksonville OL is as decimated by injury (both starting OG’s are out for the season) as their own, which should allow Indy to have a shot at winning this game. However, from a fantasy perspective Joseph Addai is still facing an uphill battle to gain enough yardage to be a fantasy football factor on Sunday.
